This weekend documentary festival celebrates the best documentaries of the year and titles that have been winning “best of festival” awards around the globe. Proceeds from this year’s festival will help support Icicle Creek Center for the Arts’ Youth Film Program. In addition to a weekend of award winning films at Snowy Owl, festival activities also include opening and closing night guest speakers and a showcase of locally produced short films.

SCHEDULE

Opening Night, Friday, March 11th

7PM  He Named Me Malala 
The moving portrait of a Pakistani schoolgirl who was attacked by Taliban gunman and recovered as an international symbol of bravery and inspiration.
Preceded by locally produced North 40 production - The Wildfire Project

9:30PM  Opening Night Party at Watershed Cafe

Saturday, March 12th

11AM – The Mask You Live In
A though provoking film about how our culture's narrow definition of masculinity is harming boys, men and society and what we can do about it.

1:30PM – Trapped
The frontline battle of medical professionals and lawyers trying to keep abortion safe and legal for millions of American women.

3:30 to 4:30 – Intermission

5PM – Unbranded
The epic 3,000 mile cross country adventure of four young men and sixteen wild mustangs  across the great American West.
Featured film preceded by locally produced Voortex production – Chasing Excellence

7:30PM – Racing Extinction
A team of artists and activists expose the hidden world of extinction and never-before-seen images that will change the way you see the planet.
Featured film preceded by locally produced Icicle TV production – She Walks on Water 

Need childcare during the film festival?
The Vox Docs Film Festival has partnered with the Mountain Sprouts Children's Community to provide care for children ages 3-10 during the film festival at the Canyon Wren Recital Hall (a 1 minute walk from the Snowy Owl Theater). Kids will enjoy crafts, nature walks, games, outdoor play and movie time.

$16 (includes ticket to afterparty at Watershed Cafe in downtown Leavenworth)

Saturday Films -

General Admission:
$12 in advance
$14 at the door

Students:
$7 in advance
$9 at the door

Weekend Pass - $55 for all five films & opening night afterparty
